Superb location. Good air-con. Nice to have a balcony to get fresh air and get a view of the buildings and streets nearby. The size of the room and bathroom is quite reasonable by Paris standard.
The bed is small and too soft. The lift is very very slow. The water boiler does not switch off automatically. And its plastic on/off button almost burned my finger when the water finished boiling.
just right in the centre of Paris. placed a couple of minutes walk to Opera Garnier, Galeries Lafayette and Printems. quite convenient for shopping and transportation. the desk clerks are nice. the room was clean and tidy for the age of the building itself.
room with very thin walls. even the spoken voice can pass through easily. one night staying may be fine but not for long term staying.
The Hotel is just behind Galaries Lafayette and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The metro is also literally at the doorsteps. Price is very affordable and reasonable for a Parisian hotel. The only thing is that the rooms are small but is still comfortable for 1 to 2 persons. Food is available all around with cafes and brasseries. There is also a supermarket just 2 shops away, especially useful for replenishing water, snacks and fruits and the other supermarket chain Monoprix is also 2 blocks down. Basic, practical hotel accommodation in good location. The other major differentiator is really my experience with the 2 gentlemen manning the frontdesk. They have completely set precedence for a lot of the poor service attitudes I had received in Paris on previous visits, helping me with all the directions on getting around which was quite a bit as I was meeting business associates as well. I tested this since landing from the airport and must have asked at least 20 people on directions just on the 1st day. Most people were not very helpful and even got the directions wrong. These 2 were just a league above and they did it with a smile and a great sense of humour.
Space is tight.
The city location was ideal. Right next to Opera Garnier and Lafayette shopping centre. Central to all metros and a host of great eating options.Found the hotel room well prepared and well maintained. Staff at the desk only too pleased to advise on trips and Paris sightseeing. A genuine 3 Star and bordering on 4 star Hotel in my opinion. A bit noisy at night because of night traffic but this was ok with us.......a mature couple.
Nothing really. Have mentioned external noise from the street at night time but that is about all there is on the negative side.
Hotel staff are so kind and friendly , also they are so helpfull. Rooms are so clean . Location of hotel is excellent and also it is so easy to moove from hotel to any other place in Paris
I have a problem of payment for one night in hotel. I stopped in hotel from January, 04 till January, 05th, 2011. The hotel took payment two times. The first time - 03.01.11 in 19.34., 90 euros, the second time 05.01.11 in 08.10. - 95 euros I ask to explain. Why the hotel removes from a card 2 times money and when there will be a refund on a card.
Stuff was open to any questions and very hospital
Excelsior Opera Hotel is central located in Paris. Single rooms at the Excelsior Opera is small and without any charm.
This was a pleasant hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. Internet worked great. Breakfast was included, though it was somewhat sparse.
Absolutely fantastic location. Very closed to major department stores and many tourist attractions such as Louvre Museum and Opera area. Staffs are so friendly.
Very noisy at nights. and facilities are old as well. Beds are little bit tiny. And there are a lot of ants in the room.
Room design, renovated, location
Excelent location for city tour and shopping
It was pretty noisy over the night but that was a problem with location of the hotel not with the hotel itself
Very good location, friendly and helpful staff. Also very good Italian restaurant next door and little coffee shop/convenience store two doors down. Free wireless internet connection. Also rooms with air conditioning.
Breakfast not worth 11 euros and if you have wheat and dairy intolerance you have nothing to eat. Also quite noisy throughout night.
Perfect location, next to the Metro, in front of a Cafe and a Bakery (very good pain au chocolate). For €88 in central paris it was a good deal.
The hotel is right on the metro line so you can ear ttrains passing by but it is not a problem.
The hotel location is perfect. it is close to the major shopping area in Paris and near by Gallarie La Fayett. Metro stations and rer is within a walking distance that can take you to Euro Disney and the major attractions in Paris.
